Undefeated Chargers Win 1J CWAJHAA

On March 10th, the Boys basketball team won the final game in the 1J Central Western Alberta Junior High Athletics Association (CWAJHAA) Tournament. The Chargers beat the Destiny Warriors by one point in a very intense match-up.

The Chargers went undefeated all season long, winning first place in the CARA league and then moving on to win CWAJHAA. The Chargers would like to acknowledge the hard work and time that their coaches (Mr. De Guzman, Mr. Austin, and Mr. Meszaros) put in over the season. They would also like to thank the many fans that came out and supported them in their final tournament and throughout their season.

As CWAJHAA Champions, the team brought back a banner to hang in the CKCS Gym. It is the first banner that the school has ever won! On Monday, the school lined the halls to high five, to cheer and to celebrate the boys' victory as the team walked their banner to the gym. The whole school took park in a pep rally that involved a short speech, awesome skill demonstrations and a whole lot of cheering and laughs.

Lastly, with the season ending, the Chargers and CKCS community are saying farewell to over half of the basketball team. 7 of the team's 12 players will be moving on to high school next year. What a great way to end their junior high basketball careers!
